Vaginoplasty

Enlargement of the vagina, which occurs due to various reasons, can be restored by vaginal narrowing (vaginoplasty). Vaginoplasty surgeries are not only important for sexual intercourse but also necessary for health.

What is Vagina Tightening Surgery?

Vaginoplasty is a tightening surgery performed to prevent deformation in the vagina area. This surgery, which narrows the vagina up to four centimeters, can be applied to women over the age of 18.

Who is Vaginoplasty Applied to?

Vaginoplasty surgeries are applied to people who do not have health problems for surgery.

The people to whom the surgery is commonly performed are listed as follows;

For those whose enlargement in the vagina is genetic

People who have had a lot of normal births

For those who have had multiple births

People who had a hard time at birth, people who had tears at birth

For those with urinary incontinence problems caused by vaginal enlargement

People who do not get enough pleasure during sexual intercourse

In some cases of sexual reluctance

Vaginal tightening surgeries are also not applied to pregnant women and nursing mothers.

How is Vaginoplasty Surgery Performed?

Vaginoplasty surgeries are performed under general anesthesia and take between 1 and 1.5 hours, depending on the extent of the enlargement. Vaginal tightening surgery is not the same for every patient. The expansion rate of the vagina affects the state of the surgery, so the condition of the vagina is thoroughly analyzed with imaging devices and examinations before the surgery.

In vaginoplasty surgery, as much as necessary from the tissues in the back of the vagina is removed, then the cut parts are brought closer to each other and sutured. Since the sutures dissolve on their own, no separate surgical intervention is performed to remove the sutures. After the vaginoplasty surgery, the general condition of the patients is followed up, and if no adverse events are encountered, the discharge can be performed on the same day.

Postpartum Vaginoplasty Surgery

Vaginoplasty operations are commonly performed due to birth. With the growth of the embryo, the vagina also grows, and the enlargement reaches its highest level during birth. In addition, tears that occur during childbirth and incisions made when necessary cause the vaginal muscles to lose their properties. This prevents the vagina from returning to its original state after childbirth. It is necessary to wait at least one year for vaginal tightening surgeries to be performed after delivery. The vagina can recover the deterioration it has been exposed to due to childbirth in about a year. Thus, the actual expansion rate is determined more accurately.

What are the Points to Consider After Vaginoplasty Surgery?

Hygiene is one of the most important issues to be considered after vaginoplasty surgeries. Especially genital area cleaning and post-toilet cleaning should be done in more detail and appropriately. The dressings of the stitches placed on the incision in the abdomen should be done regularly. During the operation, the stitches placed in the vagina dissolve in an average of 15 days. Therefore, regular check-ups should be made after the operation. Another important point to be considered in vaginal tightening surgeries is to abstain from sexual intercourse before 45 days. In addition, it should not be forgotten that the deliveries that will take place after vaginoplasty surgery may necessarily be by cesarean section.
